ChoirMic™ Series

For permanent installation in choir and similar performance venues
The Earthworks® ChoirMic™ Series of hanging choir microphones provide pristine audio quality without spotlighting and more gain before feedback while picking up almost no sound from the rear of the microphones. They are ideal for miking choirs and orchestra or band in front of the choir.

The ChoirMic™ Series microphones are available in cardioid (C30/C) and hypercardioid (C30/HC) models.
Choir microphones have always presented a unique design and installation challenge – the traditional solution is to use an angle guide on the microphone’s lead to aim towards the performance venue. The problem with this approach is that either a very minimal microphone had to be used to keep aimable weight within practical limits – or locate the microphone’s electronics at some considerable distance from the element – inviting losses, noise, etc.
Earthworks® ChoirMics™ have the electronics housed in the microphone, which provides enough weight to pull the cable straight down for a neater appearance. The ChoirMic™ also utilizes a 30 foot balanced, twisted pair star-quad cable to prevent RFI. In addition, microphone positioning is not affected by temperature and/or humidity changes. The mini-gooseneck allows the ChoirMic™ microphone head to be quickly and easily positioned without the use of springs or wire clips on the mic table.
The ChoirMic™ Series comes in two models. The C30/C (cardioid) and the C30/HC (hypercardioid).
The standard cardioid pattern provides satisfactory coverage and feedback resistance for most installations; however the hypercardioid pattern is available for those installations where a tighter pickup pattern is desired for better isolating performers, or in those installations where particularly aggressive stage monitors would otherwise present a problem.
